Hall of Fame seeks nominations

    SUSSEX COUNTY-The Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame is calling for nominations for the Class of 2005. The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize the athletic accomplishments of outstanding Sussex County athletes, coaches and sports benefactors. Since 1976, 147 individuals have been inducted. A plaque for each inductee is on permanent display in the lobby of the Sussex Tech's McNiece Auditorium, in Sparta. Eighty of the plaques are on display in the concourse area of Skylands Park, in Augusta, during the New Jersey Cardinals' baseball season. Nominees must have lived in Sussex County for four years, participated in sports in Sussex County for two years, and be at least 28 years of age. All nominations are due on June 17. Members will finish voting on July 15, and the new class will be inducted on Nov. 12 at the Farmstead Country Club. Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame membership is open to the public.
