Malone rolls perfect game High Point’s Andrew Malone was perfect for 10 frames, stringing together 12 consecutive strikes to register the first 300 game of the 2006-2007 Sussex County Interscholastic League’s Bowling season on Thursday. Malone’s effort was in the opening game and he followed with scores of 190 and 163 to finish with a 653 series, but the Wildcats dropped a 5-2 decision to Hopatcong at Sparta Lanes. Travis Sterling, in the leadoff slot for the Chiefs, put together games of 224-225-256 to finish with a three-game total of 705. Sparta blanked Sussex Tech 7-0 to improve its first place record to 39-3 as Mike Long led the Spartans with a 695 series on scores of 224-246-225. Bijan Niknam chipped in with a 644 series in games of 235-197-212. Vernon defeated Newton 5-2 as anchor Dave Kinney posted a 598 series on games of 183-267-148. Travid Ryoul led the Braves with a 618 series that included a 256 opening game. Lenape Valley edged Wallkill Valley 4-3 as Brett Jordan registered a 604 series and Megan Sigler posted a 223-game. Jake Warren finished with a 598 series for the Rangers. On Saturday, December 30, Sparta Lanes will host the third annual SCIL New Year’s Eve “Eve” Tournament at 9 a.m. It is a co-ed tournament with team and individual awards.
