Three-way tie for SCIL title Newton, Pope John and Wallkill Valley finished in a three-way tie for first place in the SCIL regular-season golf standings with 15-3 league records. The Rangers finished in a tie for fourth place in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1 Group II tournament at the Rockleigh Golf Club while the Lions placed fifth in the NJSIAA North Jersey Non-Public sectional tourney. Nick Amato, Tim Pleskach and Rob Zimmerer carded rounds of 42 to propel the Rangers to a 170-214 rout of Hopatcong over the Valleyview Course at Farmstead and a share of the SCIL crown. In the Group II sectional, Newton’s Shane Edwards carded the low 18-hole round when he posted a four-over par round of 76 over the 6812-yard course in Bergen County. The Rangers finished in a tie for fourth with Hanover Park, Newton was seventh and Kittatinny tied for tenth in the field of 17 schools.
