    Lenape 39, Jefferson 29 Andrew Wrede captured the spotlight as Lenape Valley broke into the win column with a 39-29 triumph over Jefferson in a SCIL wrestling match on Saturday. Wrede, the Patriots’ 103-pounder, packed up and planted Joe Ojeda 12 seconds into their match Paul Grogan (112), Joe Farruggia (171) and Anthony Dalesandro (275) put six points in the LVR scoring column with pins. Hopatcong 45, Newton 30 Hopatcong got into the “W” column by defeating Newton 45-30. Paul Linmartz (103), Gabe Ramos (112), Kevin Cardin (119), Mike Crum (130), Andy Hill (135), Aaron Rey (215) and Zach Rey (275) pinned for the Chiefs who racked up the points in the lower weight classes and topped off the success with back-to-back falls by the Rey brothers in the upper weight divisions. Vernon 57, Pope John 24 Pope John dropped a 57-24 verdict to Vernon on Thursday but Anthony Koert had the Lions’ fans jumping and stomping when he turned Dan Rich on his back and pinned him nine seconds into the 125-pound match to earn the Eastern Propane Fastest Fall of the Week designation. Koert was named the Villa Capri II Pope John Athete of the Week. Ryan Nelson (103), Alex Vasquez (135), Joe Laurice (152), Ryan Pascarello (171), Scott Roettger (189), Matt Simons (215) and Nick DiGuillo (275) registered pins for the Vikings. Kittatinny 66, Sparta 12 Kittatinny romped to a 66-12 rout of Sparta on Saturday as eight Cougars produced pins. Joey Bach (103) produced the fastest fall, decking Mark Weintraub 22 seconds into the 103-pound bout. Derek Valenti (112), Nick Bach (119), Brian Bollette (125), Zach Vinga (145), Justin Junior (152), Jim Celi (160) and Tom Spellman (171) added six points to the Cougars’ scoring column with pins. Sparta 66, Butler 18 Three days earlier, the Spartans romped to a 66-18 victory over Butler in a non-league confrontation. Mike Roselle flattened Jason Pulowski at 41 seconds of the 171-pound bout as he registered the fastest of seven Spartan pins. The others were John Bramley (125), Travis Helminger (145), Vince Lally (160), Phil Tackas (189), Brandon Dock (215) and Pete Zaminski (275).
