    Jefferson 8, Hunterdon 3 Max Novak captured the rink spotlight on opening night of the 2006-2007 ice hockey campaign, posting a hat trick performance as Jefferson skated to an 8-3 victory over Hunterdon Central at Skylands Ice World in Hardyston. Novak netted three goals and dished off an assist as he was named the Sussex County Player of the Week by the staff of njicehockey.com. The Combos siblings aided the Falcons’ effort as Dean tallied a pair of goals and dished off two assists with Luke contributing four assists. Ryan Doka chipped in with a goal and assist while Jimmy Stokes added a goal. Sean Tasker registered three assists with solo assists credited to Tom Blazozik, Kenny Hutman, Kevin Kelly and George Warburton. Goalie Chris Coffee came up with 13 saves. PJ 2, Bergen Catholic 1 Dan Burke and Scott Ruddy tallied goals as Pope John surged to a 2-0 lead entering the third period before recording a 2-1 victory over Bergen Catholic. Paramus 9, High Point 4 Dan Bentson scored four times but High Point could not match the firepower of Paramus in dropping a 9-4 decision. Josh Armstrong assisted on two of the goals with Jeff Feltri picking up an assist.
