High Point 10 Bernards 8 Josh Armstrong, Dan Bentson and Mike DiBerardino had hat tricks as High Point skated to a 10-8 victory over Bernards in Hardyston on Friday. Armstrong and Bentson netted three goals apiece and both dished off three assists while DiBerardino finished with three goals and a pair of assists. Jeff Veltri added a goal and assist while Tom Primo was credited with two assists. Goalie Mark Anderson had 27 saves. Sparta 8, Dumont 2 Matt Tantillo posted a hat trick as Sparta rolled to an 8-2 victory over Dumont on Saturday. The Spartans exploded to a 6-0 advantage entering the first intermission in upping their overall record to 5-1-2. Tantillo tallied three goals and dished off two assists while Scott DiStefano, Bob Lyons, Garet Malinowski, Mike Miseo and Krisk Tikkanen contributed solo goals to the win. Chad Connor, Pat Decker, Lyons, Steve Mattera, Miseo, Chris Psznoek and Mike Vogt picked up assists while Pszaonek, the goalie, recorded 22 saves. Sparta 3 High Point 2 Sparta edged High Point 3-2 in overtime as the Spartans rallied from a 2-0 deficit after two periods. Mike Postorino and Kris Tikkanen scored in the third period and sent the verdict to a shootout format. After both squads scored twice in the first round of five attempts, Mike Vogt netted the only goal in the second OT period to give the Spartans the victory.
