Sparta’s Gina Inga threw the shot 32 feet, ¼ inch to finish fourth, the top local performance at the 2006 Drew Invitational contested in Madison on Friday, Dec. 29. Her teammate, Alyssa Carlson, placed eighth with a toss of 30 feet, 2 ½ inches. Jackie Burnett of Sparta tied for fifth place in the varsity girls’ high jump when she cleared the bar at 4 feet, 8 inches. In the boys’ division, the top local performance was turned in by Sparta’s Joe Stark who tied for eighth place in the high jump when he went over the bar at 5 feet, 8 inches.
