Junior wrestlers go to state

WEST MILFORD — In the past two week, 13 boys from the West Milford Junior wrestling team qualified for the state competition under the direction of Coach Ray Guarino, Gus VandeBerg, Joe Paladino, Mark Mickens, Mark Silvestri, John Kaine and David McFadden. Seven of the 13 finished in the top eight places. They are: Erik Magi - fifth place - junior division; Ryan Murphy - sixth place - junior division; David McFadden - second place - Bantam division; Alex Schimmenti - fourth place - Bantam division; William Wenzel - sixth place - Midget division; John VanSlooten - sixth place - Midget division; Dylan Kaine - eighth place - Midget division. The following boys also competed at this level: Josh Love - junior division; Joe Schimmenti - junior division; David Zeppetelli - bantam division; Kyle Silvestri - midget division; Sal Schimmenti - midget division; Tim Mickens - midget division.
