Kickoff to Newton Roller Hockey this Friday

NEWTON — Newton Roller Hockey will open their season this Friday, April 13, at 6 p.m., at their outdoor rink behind ShopRite, 125 Water Street in Newton. The event is open to the public and all are invited to cheer for local children ages 6-18 as they play in three games that evening. Refreshments will be served, and the games will all be announced by new league president Jason Hammer. The first game will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the youngest players in Division I. The Division II and III games begin at 7:40 and 8:50 p.m., respectively. Now in its 17th year, the Newton Roller Hockey League is branching out in hopes of attracting players from all over Sussex County.
