    Kittatinny roared to a 11-0 win over Pope John in a SCIL baseball game halted after six innings by the 10-run mercy rule. Matt Junior singled and legged out a three-bagger, plating three runs. Jeff Kistle and Tom Spellman both singled twice and doubled while knocking in a run as the Cougars improved to 9-11. Joe Szelesta limited the Lions to a pair of hits while winning for the third time in seven decisions. Max Tomlinson led by example as the Cougars' ace of staff fueled Kittatinny's 4-1 win over Newton in an SCIL boys' tennis match. Tomlinson rolled to a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Tom Kmosa in the clash of No. 1 singles players. Matt Cacciaguido served goose-eggs in shutting out Dave Oberstein 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Spencer Schultz won ovcer Tony Santonastaso 7-5, 7-5 in the No. 3 singles slot. Josh Gibson and Tim Hennessey, the Cougars' top tandem, bested Scott Hatch and Justin Litnick 6-4, 6-4 at first doubles while Sam Case and Josh Reed won over Dan Medvidick and Tom Meld 6-2, 6-2. Ali Woersching picked up her fourth win against six losses and went 3-for-4 with two singles and a double as Kittatinny toppled Hackettstown 7-3 in a non-league softball game. Rachel Stark singled twice, driving in two runs while Christina Curtis and Nicole DiBattista had two singles apiece.
