Lady Highlanders advance in PCT

    Surging out to a four goal advantage by the halftime break, West Milford ousted Hawthorne Christian by a score of 4-1 and advanced to the second round of the Passaic County Girls’ Soccer Tournament on Saturday. The win raised the Lady Highlanders overall record to 6-1-1. Kaity Clark tallied a pair of goals with Emily Murphy and Lindsay Stringer scoring once each. Meg Collister and Kristen Trudell dished off assists while goalie Kait Bailey came up with five saves. West Milford edged Mount St Dominic Academy 3-2 in a Northern Hills Conference - Skyline Division girls’ soccer match played last Friday afternoon in Passaic County. Stringer, Trudell and Kelly Valerie netted goals for the Lady Highlanders with Laura Santonacita credited with an assist. Keeper Bailey turned aside 10 shots on goal. West Milford’s stay in the Passaic County Boys Soccer Tournament was brief as the Highlanders exited in the opening round by dropping a 2-0 verdict to Wayne Hills on Saturday.
