Locals excel in Midland 15K and 5K runs

Bill Bosmann of Sparta paced the local pack of 25 runners to the finish of the featured 28th Annual PNC Bank Midland 15K Run. The 54-year-old Bosmann completed the challenging 9.3-mile course over hills 61st among the 1,235 competitors. He picked up the first place award in the men's 50-54-year-old age division with a clocking of 1:00:09. Sparta's 16-year-old Edward Elowson was runnerup in the boys' 19-and-under age division while 58-year-old Barbara Hoess finished third among the 55-59-year-old women. Oak Ridge's 58-year-old Bill Gaudette raced to a 34th place finish in the field of 688 runners who completed the 28th Annual Abe Powelson Midland 5K Run on Sunday at Moorland Farms in Far Hills. Gaudette was clocked in 22:13. Picking up runner-up awards in their age brackets were Newton's 53-year-old Ronald Gugliociello and Andover's 65-year-old Anne Schwartz. 15K Run 61.
