MAC Player of the Week

Vernon’s Katie Megna had been selected the Freedom Conference Goalie/Defender of the Week in Women’s Soccer by the Mid-Atlantic Conference. Megna, a senior defender at the University of Scranton, scored the game-winning goal in the Royals’ 3-1 victory over Moravian College in Scranton’s home opener on Thursday, Sept. 14, at Fitzpatrick Field. In the second-half, the former Viking standout prevented a goal by knocking a ball away in front of the Royal goal after Scranton’s goalkeeper fell.
