Maroon Invitational

Wallkill Valley, led by the Chegwidden sisters, cruised to a first place team finish among the dozen schools in the girls’ combined Groups I-II girls’ 5000-meter run at the 2006 Maroon Invitational contested at Garret Mountain in West Paterson on Saturday morning. Aimee Chegwidden broke the tape in 19:35, while her younger sister Kaitlin picked up the silver medal with a clocking of 20.41. In the combined Groups I-II boys’ varsity 5000-meter run, Wallkill Valley finished first in the team standings. Ian Scott was the first Ranger to finish, coming in eighth in 17:30. High Point’s Stacey Lepes placed fifth in the Groups III-IV girls’ varsity 5000-meter run, turning in a time of 20:35.
