    Adam Monsalve powered Pope John to a 13-2 rout of Morris Catholic in a boys' lacrosse match played in Denville. Monsalve netted four goals and distributed three assists while Matt Johannes contributed four goals and three assists as the Lions upped their record to 10-5. Corbin Falvo and Matt Smith scored two goals each with Dave DiLauri and Tyler Picariello finishing with solo goals. Travis Baretti, Falvo, Braden Millec, Piccariello and Bobby Russo picked up assists. Drew Falvey carded a three-over par round of 39 as Pope John defeated Kittatinny 165-185 in a SCIL golf match played at the Skyview Golf Club. It was the Lions' 15th success in 18 dual matches as Chris Mefford toured the nine holes in 40 strokes. Robert Clark and Chris Hennessey finished with rounds of 43, while Nick Derella and Mike Holenstein shot 48s. Jen Marrash singled twice and legged out a two-base blow while plating three runs to key Pope John's 11-1 rout of Morris Catholic in a game halted in the bottom of the fifth by the 10-run mercy rule. Julia Beese singled and doubled, driving in two runs and Megan Prettyman doubled. Dana Inez tossed a one-hitter, fanning six in upping her record to 8-2.
