Sparta 9, Hopatcong 2 Tera Perez went deep twice with two teammates on the bases, powering Sparta to a 9-2 victory over Hopatcong on Friday as the Lady Spartans upped their record to 10-6. Perez blasted three-run homers in the fifth and sixth innings to ice the decision and was selected the SCIL/Richards and Summers Player of the Week. Kittatinny 6, Wallkill 3 Sara Stocklinski went 6 2/3 innings before allowing a single, as Kittatinny defeated Wallkill Valley 6-3. The Rangers scored all three of their runs in the top of the seventh when the Cougars committed three errors. Kittatinny improved to 11-3 as Stocklinski upped her record to 3-1. Nicole DiBattista singled in two runs and Christina Curtis one when the Cougars moved out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Franny Gely doubled in two runs in the third. Vernon 9 W.Orange 2 Vernon upset West Orange 9-2 in a non-league game on Saturday in Essex County. Brittany Peterson hurled a complete game, scattering nine hits, while Amy Baxter and Jerrica Lavooy each singled twice in four plate appearances.
