Sparta boys top DVRHS in lacrosse in semis, win championship

— Sparta High School defeated Delaware Valley Regional High School (Hunterdon County) in boys varsity lacrosse on Thursday, May 12. The final score was 12-5. The semifinal round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament took place at Veterans Field in Sparta.
On Saturday, the Spartans defeated North Hunterdon High School 11-7, to take the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament championship.
On Thursday, Jesse West contributed four goals and one assist and Stelios Kroudis contributed three goals and two assists to lead top-seeded Sparta. Owen Mead contributed three goals and one assist and Jack Bushey scored twice for Sparta.
Sparta goal keeper Daniel Smith made 11 saves.
Ryan Romaine led fifth-seeded Delaware Valley with two goals, while Jack Kastenschmidt, Joe Donnelly, and Tyler Neal each scored once.
Delaware Valley goal keeper Joe Beljan made nine saves.
The Spartans are undefeared, 17-0.
