Spartans fall to Pope John

On Sunday, Pope John rolled to another impressive victory, routing Sparta 50-15. Jeremy Tucker rushed for 314 yards on 20 attempts, scoring five six-pointers on runs of 13, 61, 73, 25 and 54 yards and was named the SCIL/Richards and Summers Player of the Week, selected by the Metropolitan New York Football Writers Association. Brenda McDonough tossed a pair of TD strikes to Derrick Freligh of five and two yards to put points on the board for the Spartans.
