State Farm agent sponsors HS gridder
Sparta - Michael Scalera, State Farm Insurance agent from Sparta, will sponsor Peter Corrigan in the 28th Annual North/South All-Star Football Classic, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on June 29 at Rutgers University Stadium. Corrigan will represent Pope John High School as a member of the North roster in the game, which showcases the best high school football players in the state. State Farm is the lead sponsor of the North/South All-Star Classic, and local State Farm agents sponsor individual athletes. “The opportunity to provide nearly 75 local athletes with room and board during the event helps us acknowledge the athletes’ hard work while supporting our local schools,” said Scalera. The N.J. Interscholastic Coaches Association has given State Farm exclusive rights to sponsor individual athletes in the classic, one of the most recognized rivalries in high school football. The game has been described as the “granddaddy of noteworthy all-star showcases for graduated seniors.” The game will be simulcast on Cable Network CN8. Thousands of football fans will be on hand to get their last look at the best New Jersey football players before they depart for their collegiate playing fields. “We are proud to be teaming up to support high school athletes in this All-Star Classic,” said Rayman Dorsett, State Farm’s agency field executive. “These are local guys, our players, in our backyard.”
