“Furious” Freddy Curiel, the Highland Lakes man who is resurrecting his boxing career on the ESPN reality show “The Contender,” was at Magarino Ford last Saturday afternoon signing autographs. One fan brought in a pair of boxing gloves for Curiel to sign. Curiel, who had been a relatively anonymous workingman with a gutter company, now finds himself being stopped by people who recognize him from the show, which runs at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays on ESPN.
