The girls go to the World Series

WEST MILFORD — The West Milford 12U Girl’s Softball Team recently qualified for the National Softball World Series (NSA) In Roanoke, Virginia. The girls qualified by virtue of their second place finish in the Tri-State Regional Qualifier, in Matamoras, PA, the weekend of April 29-30, 2006. The NSA World Series is a week long event in July, consisting of 100 NSA teams, vying for the National Championship. This is a very special honor and opportunity for our young athletes. The 12U Gold team is made up of girls from West Milford who play in the recreational town league, and a full schedule of Babe Ruth League Softball and related tournaments. The girls put in countless hours of practice and game time, and their hard work has paid off in this honor. The team players are Ryann Mickens, Olivia Schultz, Danielle Weiss, Kate Kaplanovich, Kelsey Bickmann, Erin Witherspoon, Dana Wong, Ashley Gieger, Michele Coyle, Kayla Osborne, Stephanie Romano, and Debbie Wolfe. The coaches are: Mark Mickens, Ronnie Kaplanovich, Kitty White, Wayne Coyle, and Anthony Romano.
