Swimming. The Sussex County YMCA Swordfish Swim Team won the Wallkill Valley Swim Conference Championships after winning the conference with a 6-0 record. The team achieved 722 points and finished 100 points more than the Newton Swim Club (622) and Kittatinny (589). Thirty-six swimmers from the Sussex Y performed in the championships on July 31. The Wallkill Valley Swim Conference is a summer recreational program that is committed to the development of the enjoyment of swimming while teaching responsibility, camaraderie, sportsmanship with respect for teammates and opponents, and establishing a positive attitude towards competition.
