May 26 At 9:36 p.m., Ptl.Fortunato Montella observed David A. Parisi, 18, of Stanhope, traveling on Route 206 without his seat belt fastened. A traffic stop was conducted, and after a brief investigation Parisi was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance, failure to wear a seat belt, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Parisi was released pending a municipal court appearance. May 28 Police were called to a residence on Linden Avenue at around 3:33 a.m. for a reported noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers conducted a brief investigation. Michael J. Avola, 19, of Stanhope was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and for disturbing the peace. Also charged with disturbing the peace were Michael J. Campanile and Jeffrey M. Anderson, both of Stanhope. Avola was released pending an appearance in municipal court.
