State police
On Thursday April 12, 2007 it was learned that a registered sex offender, Roy Teague, age 42, had moved from his place of residence in Wantage without notifying the police in violation of Megan’s Law. His whereabouts were reported to be unknown but possibly in the Newton area. N.J. State Parole had prepared a complaint warrant for violating the provisions of Community Supervision for Life that Teague is subject to, and the Sussex County Superior Court had issued an arrest warrant for violation of probation. Both warrants stemmed from Teague’s failure to inform law enforcement of his address change. On Monday April 16, 2007 at 10:43 a.m., Teague was located in the office of the Sussex County Social Services at 83 Spring St. in Newton and he was taken into custody. He was subsequently processed and lodged in the Sussex County Jail. There was no bail on the Superior Court Warrant for Violation of Probation. Bail for the Parole Violation NJS 2C:43-6.4d was set at $5,000, no 10%.
