Students donate bowls (and pots) to fill empty bowls

Hampton - Kittatinny students in Studio Arts classes created pottery and art works to help raise money for two charities that fill bowls for hungry people in Sussex County. When they learned Harvest House was in need of monetary donations, they wanted to help. Under the direction of teachers Heather Anderson and George Soutter, students went to work in class and each donated a piece of art work (pottery or drawing) which was sold at the Kittatinny Craft Fair in December. Pieces ranged in prices from $2 to $12. The Kittatinny teaches have been holding these fundraisers for four years, however, this year was the most successful year with over $500 being donated to charity. Half of the funds were given to Harvest House and the other half went to Manna House. According to Anderson, “We felt that this would be a great way to create art for a good cause and to give back to the community.”
