NEWTON — Once again, WNNJ’s Rob Moorhead will lead the Stuff the Bus campaign against hunger in Sussex County. On Nov. 21 and 22, Sussex County residents will be able to drop off non-perishable food items at the Quick Check locations listed below to replenish the food pantry shelves at the Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Social Services. WNNJ and WSUS personalities will be on the air at the locations listed below, when Sussex County Skylands Ride will have buses available, so people will be able to Stuff the Bus to help provide food for Sussex County’s neediest residents. Rob Moorhead and WNNJ launched the first Stuff the Bus campaign in 2008 at the new Quick Chek location in Lafayette to help restock the empty shelves at the Social Services food pantry. Over the past three years, Moorhead, WNNJ and Quick Chek have teamed up during Thanksgiving week to raise over 51,200 pounds of food and $4,845.00 in monetary donations, in addition to educating people in Sussex County about the issues of hunger in their own communities. The Department of Human Services, Division of Social Services, Rob Moorhead, WNNJ, WSUS, and Quick Chek said they would like to thank the community in advance for their continued support and generosity.
