Sussex Community College to host Fun Fair
Newton - The “Week of the Young Child” will be celebrated from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the Annual Children’s Fun Fair for children ages 3 to 8, at Sussex County Community College. The program sponsored by the college’s Early Childhood Program and the Sussex County Association for the Education of Young Children will take place in the D-Building Galleria and Cafeteria at the college. located at One College Hill Road in Newton. The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the world’s largest early childhood education association, with over 100,000 members and a network of nearly 450 local, state, and regional affiliates. The purpose of The Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. This year’s theme is, Building Better Futures for All Children. At this year’s fair, children will have the opportunity to take part in over 15 different hands-on activities at booths set up by the college’s early childhood classes and area nursery and pre-schools. College health and nutrition classes will present a fruit tasting, which will include some rare fruits the children may have never tried. There will also be a book fair.
