    Caitlin A. Borras was sentenced with respect to her convictions of conspiracy to commit burglary and unlawful possession of a weapon with respect to an armed burglary of a Frankford Township residence committed by co-defendants on October 16, 2007. Borras, 20, of Newton, was sentenced to four years state prison with one year stipulated parole ineligibility. Borras was given 21 days jail credit. Penalties and assessments of $380 were imposed and $2,214.89 in restitution was ordered to be paid to the victim on a joint and several basis. Bruce Damore, 24, of Hamburg was sentenced to four years New Jersey State Prison, was given credit for 60 days served, plus 59 days GAP time and his New Jersey driver’s license was suspended for 12 months. He must pay total fines and penalties of $2,705, pay restitution to several victims in the amount of $6,059.50 joint and several and must submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on May 19 to seven counts of burglary and one count of possession of crack cocaine, all third degree crimes, and to the fourth degree crime of aggravated assault. Between December 16, 2007 and January 31, 2009 in Wantage, Sparta, Newton, Vernon, Hardyston, Hamburg and Franklin, Damore and several co-defendants broke into vehicles and took items including credit cards and checks, which they used to make purchases and get cash for themselves. On March 25, 2008 in Franklin Borough, during an investigation involving the defendant using profane language towards fast food restaurant workers, a pat down revealed crack cocaine on his person. On August 6, 2008 in Newton, while being arrested for giving police false information, he spat at one of the officers who was attempting to escort him from the police vehicle into the police station. June 15 Jason McKevitt, 50, of Hopatcong pled guilty to two counts of third degree aggravated assault on two police officers and fourth degree throwing bodily fluids at a police officer. McKevitt admitted that on or about Oct. 2, 2008 he had been involved in a domestic violence dispute that resulted in his being arrested by the police. During the course of the investigation by law enforcement, McKevitt assaulted Officers Tracey and Maresca of the Hopatcong Police Department. In addition, while under arrest, he spit on a police officer. Leonard W. Bonter, 40, of Montague pled guilty to the second degree crime of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted that on March 27 he possessed approximately 50 grams of cocaine, which he intended to sell from his home in Montague. June 16 Robert J. Douglass, 34, of Vernon pled guilty to receiving stolen property, a fourth degree crime. On Sept. 17, 2006 in Vernon, he bought a log splitter that he knew had been stolen and sold it to someone else. Lenny Syfor, 23, of Newton pled guilty to one count of child abuse, a fourth degree crime. On August 10, 2008 the defendant had a minor under the age of 16 touch him inappropriately. Barth Stewart, 56, of Sussex entered a guilty plea to an indictment charging him with one count of a fourth degree charge for a Megan’s Law violation for failure to notify law enforcement that he had moved to a new address. Under the provisions of Megan’s Law, Stewart was required to notify the local police that he was moving to a new address 10 days prior to his actual move. Stewart admitted to the court that between Dec. 1, 2007 and Dec. 11, 2007 he had moved to a new address in Sussex Borough without first notifying the Newton Police Department of the change in his address. Lauren L. Hansen, 23, of Franklin indicted with vehicular homicide, a crime of the second degree. The indictment alleges that on July 25, 2008 in the Township of Wantage, Hansen recklessly drove her vehicle, while intoxicated and collided with a motorcycle being operated by Thomas J. Klosterhoff, causing his death. Joseph J. Cavanaugh, 25, of Vernon was indicted with vehicular homicide, a crime of the second degree and assault by auto, a crime of the fourth degree. The case was investigated by the Vernon Police Department and the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department. The indictment alleges that on Aug. 2, 2008, in the Township of Vernon, Cavanaugh recklessly drove a vehicle, while intoxicated, thereby causing the death of Ryan Olsen and bodily injury to Jason Concoy, both passengers in the vehicle. Frank Aigotti, 27, of Wantage Township was indicted with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief, all crimes of the third degree. The case was investigated by the New Jersey State Police. The indictment alleges that on March 4, 2008 in the Borough of Sussex, Aigotti unlawfully entered a building owned by Stephen Giordano, taking movable property and causing damage in excess of $2,000.
