Sussex Dems aid hurricane victims

newton - The Sussex County Democratic Committee (SCDC) presented a $1,000 check to the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross during the Democrats' regular meeting on Monday night, Sept. 26. The money will be used to support victims of Hurricane Katrina. Both Howard Burrell, SCDC chairman, and Megan Ward, vice chairwoman, are members of the board of directors of the county Red Cross chapter. A representative of the chapter updated meeting attendees on the status of the Red Cross' relief efforts in support of the hurricane victims and appealed for ongoing support. The SCDC meeting was held at the Hampton Diner, on Route 206 North.
