Sparta - The 2007 Spring Expo took place this past weekend at the Sussex County Technical School in Sparta. Sponsored by the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses, the show featured more than 100 county exhibitors ranging from the building trades to engineering technology and horticulture. “We have a great mix of businesses represented, and this year we have more outdoor exhibitors,” said Tammy Horsfield, president of the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce. “We want to show people that they can shop locally. Everything that they need is right here in their own back yard.” On Friday night, visitors could dine on prime rib at the school’s Mustang Café, where all of the food is prepared by the culinary students. On Saturday, a bistro style lunch was available with sandwiches served on artisan bread which came fresh from the school bakery. Joan Schreiber and Laura Ray Fink, both of Wantage, took advantage of the Expo to get together for lunch and check out the local businesses. “I have lived in the county for 20 years and I like to shop locally so this is a great opportunity to check out what is going on in the community,” said Schreiber.
