Tom Chapin coming to the Growing Stage

NETCONG — The Growing Stage is proud to present its 2011-12 Special Concert Series which will start off Friday, Nov. 11, with a performance by recording artist Tom Chapin. Tom Chapin's music spans styles and generations with adult albums and kids' albums, contemporary folk and pop. For more than thirty years and through twenty compact discs, Chapin has entertained, mused and enlightened audiences of all ages with life-affirming original songs told in a sophisticated array of musical styles. Chapin has gained widespread critical and popular acclaim for his recordings aimed at 4 to 11 year-olds and their families. Tom and his collaborators John Forster, Michael Mark and Jon Cobert have created a body of songs which are quickly becoming children's classics. His family albums have been recognized with awards from the American Library Association, Parents' Choice, the New York Music Awards, the National Association of Parenting Publications and Parents Magazine. Five of his family recordings have received Grammy nominations for Best Musical Album For Children, including Some Assembly Required, Tom's newest family recording. Billboard magazine calls Chapin "the best family artist around." Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the Growing Stage is located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong.
