AUGUSTA - Tri-Co Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Randolph, will open its new, larger facility in Augusta on Saturday, Oct. 29. The branch will be in a multipurpose Federalist-style building constructed by Tri-Co at 47 Rte. 206. The grand opening celebration will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, according to Michael R. Prettyman, Tri-Co president and CEO. The first 200 adults to arrive at the new office will have an opportunity to spin Tri-Co’s “Wheel of Cash” and win from $1 up to a grand prize of $500. Valuable prizes may also be won in Tri-Co’s month-long “Happy-Go-Lucky Sweepstakes.” First prize is $2,000 in “travel bucks,” second prize, two season passes to Mountain Creek Ski Resort, and third prize is $500 in “gas bucks.” Rules and regulations will be posted at the new Augusta facility. The first 50 adults in line Oct. 29 at the new office each get an N.J. lottery ticket. Events to take place on grand-opening day will include a live remote broadcast from the office by radio station WSUS, a face-painting clown for children, hot dogs and cold soda will be served between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and musical entertainment will be provided by a three-piece Dixieland band. Each child accompanied by an adult will also be given a free pumpkin while the supply lasts. “All these festivities are our way of thanking our current membership and introducing the credit union concept to those who aren’t members of Tri-Co,” said Prettyman. “As a full-service credit union, Tri-Co offers any kind of account that a person, a family, or a business could want. Each of our accounts was designed with our members in mind, and almost every account was created after getting member input.” Because it is a credit union, Tri-Co is literally owned by its members. Those who are or are related to school district teachers or administrators; ESPs; county government employees or officials; members of parent-teacher associations; employees of colleges or universities located in Sussex, Morris or Warren counties; business owners; and members of any professional organization are all eligible for Tri-Co membership. The new space features a spacious lobby area, drive-up windows, a 24-hour, drive-up ATM plus a night depository for members and commercial businesses; ample parking and easy access for the physically challenged are further conveniences. Tri-Co also had a large, comfortable community room installed in the building; the room will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to any group that needs a place to meet. The branch manager of Tri-Co’s Augusta office is Helen Trimper. For information, call 973-300-0545, or toll free (from out-of-area) at 888-391-7991.
