Troop 85 hike

ANDOVER Members of Boy Scout Troop 85 of Andover and Newton recently hiked 10 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Beginning on the trail head located at the Delaware Water Gap, the boys finished their hike at the Mohican Nature Center in Blairstown. The troop spent the night at the Nature Center before returning home the next morning. The hike met all requirements of the Hiking Merit badge. Troop 85 is sponsored by American Legion Post 86 located on Yates Avenue in Newton. The troop meets there each Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
