GREEN — Girl Scout Troop 911 of Green recently held a Bridging to Cadets ceremony where the girls also received their Bronze Award. To earn this award, the girls organized and ran a few different projects while they were Junior Girl Scouts. They had the choice to create and run the Green Township Easter Egg Hunt or work on an a local food pantry "bagged lunch" project and coupon clipping assignment. Some of the girls interested in the environment also volunteered for local clean-up projects and a Girl Scout Camp garden project. The garden was renovated, planned, planted, and decorated by the girls at Camp Rickabear during an overnight camping trip. The troop was assisted at their bridging ceremony by three older Cadet Girl Scouts from Troop #837. The bridging ceremony took place the day after Hurricane Irene.
