Walking at Work Day

| 29 Sep 2011 | 11:44

On Wednesday, April 25, the American Heart Association Start! movement is calling on corporate America and companies to encourage all employees to wear sneakers to work and walk at work. The purpose of Start! Walking At Work Day is to get more Americans to become physically active by walking. Start! challenges corporations and the workforce to promote physical fitness and break down the obstacles that keep Americans from being physically active. The movement focuses on walking as an activity because it’s accessible, free and has the lowest dropout rate of any type of exercise. Another part of Start!, is the Start Fit-Friendly Company Recognition Program, for organizations prioritizing the health of their employees. For more about Start! call 1-800-AHA-USAl or 609-208-0020.
