Weichert to sponsor toy drive campaign
Sparta The 28th Annual Weichert Realtors’ toy drive is underway and the Sparta office is buzzing with excitement. For nearly three decades, the offices of Weichert Realtors, in conjunction with local businesses, has collected and distributed toys to needy families in their local communities. This year is no different. Donors can help put a smile on a child’s face this holiday season by dropping off a new, unwrapped, non-violent toy or game to one of the following locations, prior to Monday, Dec. 11: Weichert Realtors Sparta Office, at 92 Woodport Rd. in Sparta Montague Tool and Supply, Broad St. in Branchville Lisa’s Hampton House Restaurant, Rt. 206 in Hampton Rite Aid Pharmacy, Spring St. in Newton The community-minded staff at the Weichert office are excited, because in the past several years, they have succeeded in expanding the toy drive project into a holiday gGiving campaign. Besides the collection and distribution of toys, the realtors will be raising money to help other Sussex County organizations service their clients, many of whom need basic necessities such as food and clothing. Home to nearly 100 agents, the Weichert office has the ability to raise the money needed for the holiday giving campaign at an annual in-house auction. Local businesses and service providers are being asked to contribute donations for the auction, in the form of merchandise or a gift certificate of any kind. Restaurant gift certificates are especially welcomed, as well as tickets to shows and events. All money raised at the auction is funneled back into the community to help residents of all ages. Another annual event at the Weichert office is a visit from Santa. He will be visiting the office at from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. Volunteers will take children’s picture with Santa at no charge, but if possible, a donation for the toy drive at that time would be appreciated.
