Woodruff and Lipman Award nominees sought
Trenton - In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Division on Women and the New Jersey Advisory Commission on the Status of Women will present awards named in honor of the late Connie Woodruff and Senator Wynona M. Lipman. The awards this year will again recognize outstanding New Jersey community organizations that have developed policies, services and programs that have benefited women in New Jersey. As it is important to acknowledge the work done by these organizations throughout the year; it is especially noteworthy during Women’s History Month to honor actions that have improved the lives of all women in New Jersey. You may recommend a community organization or nominate your own organization for this year’s Wynona M. Lipman Awards following the attached guidelines. We will be accepting recommendations of outstanding community organizations in the following categories: New Policy Initiative Award Community Service Award Service in Healthcare Award Service in Education Award Violence Against Women Program Award Job Training and Professional Development Program Award Innovations in Science and Technology Award Mentoring Program Award Political Empowerment Award (new category) The Connie Woodruff Award for Best Program will be chosen from the Wynona M. Lipman Award recommendations. Anyone who has been a recipient of the Connie Woodruff or Wynona M. Lipman award in the past five years, you will be ineligible for this year’s awards.
