Z Troupe dancers end competition season with 72 awards

Sussex County - The Z Dance Troupe ended its 2005-2006-competition season with an impressive showing at the “On Stage” America National Talent Competition in Cape May behind the direction of instructors and choreographers Peggy Ziegler, Renee Ziegler, Doreen Ziegler and Bonnie O’Brien. The Troupe’s haul included four Diamond, 43 Platinum, 20 High Gold, and five Gold awards. The judges also recognized the teachers with “The Triple Crown Award,” given for three consecutive years of consistently creative choreography. A segment of the competition was the Challenge of Champions, a “dance off” among selected groups that participated during the nationals. There were 10 groups selected from the junior division (12 and under) and 10 groups from the senior division (13 and over). Z Troupe large groups filled two spots for each division. The junior tap group “Happy Feet” received ninth overall and Junior Musical Theatre group “Broadway Kids” was awarded sixth overall. In the senior division Musical Theatre group “Devil You Know” received tenth overall and the Musical Theatre production “Beauty & The Beast” acquired second overall. In the main competition, the Musical Theatre group “Broadway Kids” won second overall in the junior division. The Musical Theatre group “America” received fifth overall and Musical Theatre Production “Beauty & the Beast” was given first overall in the senior division. The Most Entertaining Petite Group Award was presented to tap group “Together Again,” and The Most Entertaining Senior Group Award went to tap group “Pass That Dutch.” “Believe in Miracles,” won The Conviction & Emotion Award, “Think” won the Stand by Your Man Award, soloist Amanda Peslak’s “Love is never Easy” won the Beautiful Lines & Feet Award and vocalist Danielle Berado’s “Life of the Party” won the Miss Personality Award.
