Coverage of ATV controversy ‘one-sided'

To the Editor: The Township Journal’s coverage of the ATV controversy has been one-sided. At the town council meeting, it was pointed out that Jim Costanza’s complaints are exaggerated, and not reflective of the community of Lake Lackawanna, nor of his neighbors. The fact that this was omitted from the article written by Kathryn Kaplan indicates that she is more interested in painting a picture, rather than reporting actual facts. The complainant, Jim Costanza lives on Lake Drive in Byram. A simple interview of his neighbors and people of the community would show that we are a recreational community, have a place to legally ride (over 200 acres), and that the ATV problem is not even an ATV problem — it is a Costanza problem. It is not surprising that Mr. Constanza is not fond of recreation since he has never joined and owes years of lake maintenance. Should you have any questions, or would like to paint a complete and accurate picture, please contact me or any of my neighbors. Daven Baez Byram
