Glad for the hunt and the hunters

I am glad the Bear hunt is on. The facts are simple. Bears are the only animal in this region that can kill you very easily. I agree that they are mostly placid, but is it really worth the risk? I go fishing with my seven-year-old all the time and recently had a bear sneak up to within 40 feet of me. Luckily my son was farther away, and I carefully removed us from the situation.  What if it was him that was the closest?  He’s been taught how to act, but you nor I can guarantee what a seven-year-old will do when faced with this situation.  I wasn’t feeding the bear, didn’t provoke him, didn’t have any fish. He just wanted to go for a swim on a hot day, unfortunately for me, right were we were fishing. Can you bear activists guarantee that my son would be OK if it were to happen again, I doubt it. I see bears all the time right here in Byram. I hope the hunters are out in force in Byram and surrounding areas, and thanks to them as well.
