In defense of Byram police officer
To the Editor: Wes Supper - It is obvious that you feel that you were treated in a manner that you should not have, or you feel that Officer Matarazzo may not speak as slow or annunciated as you would like. You may have wanted to think twice prior to writing this letter, putting down not only Officer Matarazzo but all law enforcement officers by stating that you had to debunk a childhood myth: that policeman are always friendly people who are intent on helping and teaching others the proper way to behave. I feel that there are always two sides to a story. May I suggest that in the future, instead of going to the media about one of Byram’s Finest, that you call Chief Rafferty to advise him of how you feel. I am sure that the chief would listen to you and your opinions. I do not think you live in town because if you do, I would hope that Officer Matarazzo or any one of the other members of Byram’s Finest never has to come to your aid. Not saying that they would not do there job to assist, just like Officer Matarazzo was doing his job on Jan. 28, at approximately 4:50 p.m., there just may be a possibility that they may be tied up on another job and their response may be delayed, you never know, things happen in this world and you never know.
