Kudos to Scott Garrett
To the Editor: A quick response to the two letters published in your June 8 edition. First off, kudos to Congressman Scott Garrett. He has the foresight to challenge those who obsess about endangered wildlife and “pristine environments” at the expense of our energy independence and national security. Facts on the economy: Unemployment in the United States is 4.6%, the lowest level since 2001. Home ownership is at record high levels. This is the 33rd straight month in which the economy has added jobs, with 730,000 net jobs created since the beginning of the year, and 5.2 million more jobs since August 2003. These are facts, not theories or opinions. The downside? The price of gasoline. You can thank Schumer, Lautenberg, Corzine, Kennedy, Feinstein, et al., for this. Frank Hanna Andover
