To the Editor: We are losing our WW II veterans at an alarming rate so we are trying to locate them to save their deeds for history while there is still time. The 82d Airborne Division has served this country for more than 64 years through every military conflict and war, including Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in WW II, also in the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, and the Persian Gulf. They are serving today in Afghanistan and Iraq. We have 100 chapters across America and 30,000 members who seek to renew acquaintances and swap war stories. Our membership has veterans from the 11th, 13”1, 17th, 82d, 101s* and today’s Special Forces. Combat is not a requirement, only the Jump Wings you earned through hard work Our chapters hold regular meetings, picnic’s, dinner-dances, many mini-reunions, march in local parades and school programs about WW II. Airborne is the only requirement. Make your plans early!!!
