Praise for Challenger coaches

To the editor: On behalf of the parents and the players of the Sussex-Wantage Challenger Baseball League, I would like to publicly thank Bobby Bahr and Scott Kenyon for being our coaches for the 2006 season. These two individuals exemplify what it means to really step up and be the kind of neighbor and citizen that makes our community the wonderful place that it is. Every Sunday, without fail, Mr. Bahr and Mr. Kenyon coached and encouraged our developmentally and physically challenged children in the game so that they could experience the fun and teamwork that is little league baseball. In addition, their families were very often there with them lending a hand and being our “buddies” on the field. They did this for no other reason but because they sincerely take pleasure in watching our kids enjoy themselves as they learn and develop new skills year after year. They are very special people and we are lucky to know them. Additionally we are grateful for the huge support and encouragement we received from Tim Loughery and other members of the Sussex-Wantage Little League, Ashley Simeone for always lending a hand and being our “junior” coach, as well as the Wantage Township Recreation Commission and the Sussex Borough Recreation Commission. We could not have done it without them. Leslie Coolong Wantage
