The Tri-State Actors Theatre is an incredible value

Last Saturday evening, with a group of my friends, I attended the Tri-State Actors Theatre production of “The Passion of Dracula” at the Sussex County Community College Performing Arts Center. This is not a review of that performance, but a simple “heads-up” to the theater goers of Sussex County and surrounding areas, that if you have not yet had the opportunity to attend a TSAT production, there is no better time to do that than right now. If you think about the price of a Broadway ticket, dinner in the city, and transportation and parking, then you will recognize that this local theater is truly a bargain. TSAT’s new performance venue is beautiful. The set for the show was elegant and impressive. The play itself was high drama with a bit of comedic relief. The actors were excellent. The audience gave them a standing ovation for a high-energy and believable performance. The cast included a theater student from SCCC in his first professional appearance. Kudos to all, and especially to Paul and Pat Meacham who have worked so hard to bring professional theater to Sussex County and keep it here. There is still time to see this play, performances run through Sunday, October 30. If you cannot make time in your schedule for “The Passion of Dracula,” then be sure to reserve your seats for the annual presentation of “A Christmas Carol” in December. Elenora L. Benz Newton
