Writer disagrees with bargain

To the Editor: OK, I am just curious as to what idiot let this horrible woman agree to “parenting classes” and no jail time? What sort of message is this sending, that’s it’s OK to leave your children home alone for days at a time, in a dirty nasty apartment, with no food (oops, sorry, there were the pizza boxes) to fend for themselves? The excuse that Ms. Sylvester’s car was broken down is not good enough. Take a cab, catch a train into Netcong and walk the mile home to ensure your child’s safety.
