Evelyn M. (Morris) Orr of Branchville, N.J., passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at Newton Medical Center. She was 79.

Evelyn was born Sept. 14, 1941, and raised in Frankford Township, N.J. She was a lifelong resident of Branchville. She was a graduate of Newton High School, class of 1959.

Evelyn continued her education at Wilfred Beauty Academy graduating in 1961. She was employed by Selective Insurance Co. of Branchville and the Marian E. McKeown School as a teacher’s aide. Evelyn also assisted her husband in his accounting business for the past 45 years. Evelyn was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. If you were lucky enough in life to eat at meal at her table you were truly blessed by the experience. She was an outstanding cook and was always available by phone to answer a recipe question.

Evelyn had passion for reading and would finish three books a week. She loved birds and butterflies, she watched them every day. She had a beautiful smile and great sense of humor. Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist Church of Branchville and the Frankford Seniors.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Grace Morris; son, Eric M. Orr; and brother, Donald Morris.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, E. Jerome Orr; son, Kyle B. Orr; cherished grandchildren, Zachary P. Orr (Kristin), Caleb E. Orr (Halee), Hannah E. Orr and Samuel J. Orr; great-grandson, Levi B. Orr; and sisters, Gladys Lantz (Jim), and Linda Lawson (Bob). Evelyn is also survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Morris, Wayne and Lydia Orr, Deborah and Brian McCann, and Kathryn Orr; along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, at the United Methodist Church of Branchville, 8 Broad St., Branchville, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
