Peggy Sue Babcock

Peggy Sue Babcock (nee Peer) of Vernon Township, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 25, 2021. He was 60.

Born to Burton and Viola Peer in Franklin, NJ, she has been a lifelong resident of the area.

Peggy worked as the head of housekeeping at Wallkill/St. Clare’s Hospital in Sussex, N.J., for 27 years and then worked as a custodian for Vernon Township High School. Peggy enjoyed watching demolition derbies, tending to her flower garden, and caring for her grandchildren.

Peggy is predeceased by her mother, Viola Peer; and two grandchildren, Jesse and Zoey.

She is the beloved wife of Keith D. Babcock Sr. of Vernon Township; devoted mother of Keith “Doug” Babcock Jr. and his wife, Shana, of Wantage Township, N.J., and Melissa “Missy” Babcock and her fiancée, Craig Hough, of Sussex, N.J.; loving grandmother of Audrianna, Heath, Julianne, Hannah, Izabella, Khloe and Daltyn; Dear sister of Michael Peer, Barbara VanHorn, Nancy Storm, Patricia Peer, and Kathleen Peer, all of Hardyston Township, N.J. She was cherished by many nieces and nephews. She raised her Godsons, Kevin and Craig Smith.

Visitation was held at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin, N.J., on April 29. A funeral service will be held April 30 at the funeral home. Cremation was private.

Memorial gifts to the family to help offset the funeral costs would be greatly appreciated.
