Pierre Stephen Pagerie

    Pierre Stephen Pagerie of Oakland, N.J., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was 79.

    Born to Marcel and Simone Pagerie in Paterson, N.J., he grew up in Franklin Lakes and was later a resident of Oakland for the past 50 years.

    Pierre served with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War and then owned and operated his general contracting business, Pagerie Enterprises Co., based out of Franklin Lakes, N.J. since 1970 before retiring in 2006. Pierre served as vice president and then president of the Oakland Board of Health for many years and also worked as a building inspector. He was the true outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and camping and relaxed by tinkering in his garage.

    Pierre is predeceased by a son-in-law, Justin Goldin; and brothers, Ronald, Daniel and Richard Pagerie.

    Pierre is the beloved husband for 50 years of Virginia Pagerie (nee Lunham) of Oakland; devoted father of Monique Goldin of Vernon Township, N.J., Janine Pagerie of Oakland, and Nadine Pagerie-Majano and her husband, Francisco, of Ramsey, N.J.; loving grandfather of Kadin, Vincent, Lucien, Amity-Quinn, Maxime-Claude, Skye and Lennox; and dear brother ,Simone Kunath of Ephratah, N.Y.

    Private cremation services are under the direction of Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, Vernon.
