Tyler Casper is the newest Eagle Scout in Troop 85.
For his Eagle project, he built an animal lean-to shelter at Tamerlaine Animal Sanctuary and Preserve in Montague.
He has earned 31 merit badges, the National Outdoor Award for Camping and Aquatics, the mile swim and the Pope Pius XII religious award.
He has accumulated 60 nights of camping, attending summer camp at Allamuchy and Citta Scout Reservation.
In the troop, he has been historian, scribe, patrol leader and quartermaster.
Casper completed National Youth Leadership Training and served on staff for Patriots Path Council. He is also a member of Woapalanne Lodge 43 of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s honor society.
He is a senior at Newton High School, where he is a member of the swim team, Pass it Along, Peer Leadership, Honors Choir and the National Honor Society.
